Privacy and personal data processing policy
This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Spanish version is the official policy and prevails in case of any discrepancy.
This policy explains what personal data I process, why, who I share it with and how you can exercise your rights, under Statutory Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015) and other Colombian personal data protection rules.
1. Data controller
- Name: Alejandro Cataño Cardona, an individual operating under the trade name Rasorbit.
- Domicile: Bogotá D.C., Colombia.
- Email: contacto@rasorbit.com
2. What data I process and why
- If you write to me: your name, your email and what you tell me in your message, to reply and, if you ask, prepare a proposal.
- If you message a WhatsApp number operated by Rasorbit (for example, a test or demo number): your number, your profile name and your messages, to reply and to test how my systems work. I do not use them to send you advertising.
- If you hire me: the data needed for the contract and invoicing, kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require.
- If you visit this site: the hosting provider may log technical data such as your IP address and browser, for security. This site does not use tracking cookies, analytics or forms.
I do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
3. Systems I build for clients
When I build or operate a WhatsApp bot, an automation or an integration for a business, the data of the people who contact that business (phone number, profile name, messages and the information they provide to book or order something) belongs to the business, which is its data controller. I act as a data processor: I process it only to provide the service the business hired and according to its instructions.
Obtaining its customers' authorization and informing them how their data is used is the responsibility of each business. If you contacted a business that uses a system I built, you can exercise your rights with that business, or write to me and I will forward your request to them.
4. Providers and servers outside Colombia
To work, these services rely on third-party providers: Meta (WhatsApp), WhatsApp connectivity providers, hosting and email services such as Cloudflare, cloud servers and, when the service includes it, artificial intelligence providers. Some have servers outside Colombia, so data may be processed in other countries, such as the United States. Each provider processes data under its own terms.
5. Retention and security
I keep data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was received for, or as long as the law requires. I apply security measures that are reasonable for the size of this operation, such as encrypted connections and access with personal credentials. No system is infallible; if an incident affects personal data, I will notify whoever is required.
6. Minors
My services are aimed at businesses and adults, and I do not seek to collect data from minors.
7. Your rights and how to exercise them
You can access, update, correct and request deletion of your data, request proof of the authorization you gave, revoke it, and file complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) after first writing to me. Accessing your data is free.
Write to contacto@rasorbit.com with your name, the phone number or email you used, and what you are requesting. I answer inquiries within 10 business days and claims within 15 business days at most, as required by law.
8. Data deletion requests
To ask me to delete your data, including WhatsApp conversation data, email contacto@rasorbit.com with the subject "Delete my data" and include the number or email you used and, if you know it, the name of the business you contacted. If the data is mine, I delete it and confirm. If it belongs to a client business, I forward the request to them and let you know. What Meta retains on WhatsApp depends on Meta's policies.
9. Changes
If I change this policy, I will publish the new version on this page with its update date.
